About — Our Story

Collection SS26 — Berkeley, CA
Berkeley Hills Apparel was born from a simple conviction: clothing should be engineered, not decorated. We exist at the intersection of material science and design philosophy, rooted in the intellectual landscape of the Berkeley Hills.
Every garment is treated as architecture — each seam calculated, every fabric chosen for how it will live on your body over years, not seasons. We reject the disposable and embrace the essential.
Our approach is Tactile Brutalism — raw fabric, precise geometry, and a commitment to construction that honors the material itself. No embellishments. No logos screaming for attention. Just the garment as structural masterpiece.
Principles — 001 through 003
001
We begin with the thread. Ring-spun, combed, heavyweight cotton sourced from trusted mills. Every batch is tested for hand-feel, shrinkage, and longevity before a single pattern is cut.
002
Our silhouettes emerge from the fabric's natural drape and weight. We don't force shapes onto material — we listen to how it wants to fall and build from there.
003
We don't follow fashion calendars. Pieces are designed to be worn year-round, layered or standalone. When something works, we keep making it — better each time.
